V300 or S300 is the whole question

The V300 has the twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE. The S300 has the naturally aspirated 2JZ-GE. They are the same car to look at and the V300 is worth roughly two and a half times the S300 in the Japanese market. If a listing looks like a bargain, check which one it is before anything else.

A big saloon that was used like one

These were company cars and family cars, so high mileage is normal and not by itself a problem. Service history and a verified odometer are worth more here than a low number.

What to check

Suspension bushes and the air suspension where fitted are the expensive items. The 2JZ itself is famously durable, but no compression test is available anywhere in Japan, so the auction sheet, the photographs and an inspection at a USS house are what you have to go on.
