Later revisions drive better

Toyota revised the SW20 several times, and the later cars got suspension and steering changes that settled the handling down considerably. The build year on the sheet tells you which one you are looking at.

Mid-engine means hidden rust

The area around the engine bay, the rear suspension mounts and the sills are where these corrode, and none of it is visible in a standard set of auction photographs. This is a car worth having inspected in person.

The turbo engine is the expensive part

The 3S-GTE is strong when standard and frequently is not standard. No compression test exists in Japan, so treat engine condition as money to budget rather than a fact to confirm.
